Reformer's Fire

Today was the opening of the Reformation.  
We met to see a play introducing some of the men of that period.

Sophia is waiting for the play to begin:


Copernicus told us about how the earth revolved around the sun:


Tycho Brahe told us how he observed the planets:



Ferdinand Magellan told us how he set out to find a westward route to the Spice Islands:


Next, monks sell indulgences to raise money for St. Peter's:


And Martin Luther sets the world on fire with his 95 Theses:


Then the children paired up to draw a picture from a description in words only just as Albrecht Durer did when he drew detailed pictures of animals he had never seen before:



And finally, for fun, the kids poked cloves into oranges to make a popular air freshener of the time:



And last, but not least, the group shot under the stars:
