Rainbows and Turtles

I find it difficult to get started with school some mornings because life happens, such a this day when we were distracted by rainbows in the sky. I had to take pictures, and everyone had to "see."

Then, Gianna looked out the livingroom window to see what the wind blew down, and she exclaimed that she saw what looked like a turtle in our front yard. She did a double take because it seemed absurd; but lo and behold, it was a turtle.
We couldn't leave him out there in the terrible weather. We made a temporary home for him in a plastic bin and have been making plans for him because we cannot keep him. All we know is that he is a red-eared slider. When the rain stops, the kids have to ask the neighbors if he belongs to them. If not, then we must find a home for him.
