Eleanor of Aquitaine Visits the High Desert

Today, Eleanor of Aquitaine visited our school and told us about her life as Queen of France, Queen of England, mother of King Richard the Lionhearted, (and King John Lackland).

For inquiries, the students learned how to write poetry using triolet form.

And when they were finished, they had to recite their poem to Queen Eleanor because she loves poetry.

The next inquiry was to use six blocks to form hexagons, the shape of France.  
They also were able to color a French flag or draw the outline of France
on a Shrinky-dink for their journals.

Here they had to make the shape of France with a piece of bread.  Yum!
